JAY’S BACKGROUND:

• • Over 25 years of accomplished professional construction experience.
  • Graduated from VCU School of Business class of ’89.
  • Learned many trade skills early in career contributing to a construction detail-oriented perspective.
  • Owned and operated a small and successful construction business early in my career. Structural framing repairs, painting, carpentry, and millwork were my staples.
  • Over six years professional estimating experience. Worked with Centex Homes, one of the nation’s largest homebuilders; as well as one of the area’s custom homebuilders- J.C. Stanley inc., to provide accurate residential cost estimates.
  • Hands on custom builder and class “A” contractor for over 5 years. Designed and built custom homes, additions, and numerous carpentry and millwork projects. Led a team of talented employees to achieve amazing results.
  • Lead millwork designer and engineer for over 5 years. Designed, drafted, and engineered (including CNC programming) a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential millwork projects. This aspect of my career was highlighted with my role as lead engineer with CLM, inc., one of the DC areas premier commercial millwork companies.
  • Expertly designing, drafting, and engineering home plans for close to 15 years for my construction businesses, various area builders and contractors, including large multifamily projects and custom homes for Eagle construction.
